Why do I write?

Jesus taught through parables, blending Old Testament scripture with current cultural examples. Sometimes His listeners were the common man, sometimes He was speaking to those in power. But His teachings were down to earth, told in a manner that anyone could understand.

I try to do that in my writing. I believe in talking to my audience like we are in my living room, sipping a hot drink by the fire, or enjoying the view of the big red barn from my front porch.

I can be fun and quirky, but also gritty and real. Unapologetic about real life.

I think the truth stands for itself and doesn't need defending.

But if I can share some truth and encouragement through my stories—if I can give someone a moment of happiness—I will have achieved my goal.

Be Blessed,

Rena
